2023 In a Nutshell
Wow, what a busy year we've had!
Free Book Giveaway
At the beginning of last year we created a free book request for The Great Controversy on our website with overwhelming results.
We received over 600 requests in July alone, causing us to shut down the requests so that we could come up with a solution. But God helped us through brothers and sisters who generously donated their resources for books and postage.
Camp Meetings
We went to several camp meetings to promote The Great Controversy Game starting with the Fruitland Bible Camp in eastern Washington. Later we went to the Washington Conference Camp Meeting and the Oregon Conference Camp Meeting. As a result, more Adventist Book Centers are carrying the game including Walla Walla.
October Road Trip
We hit the road in October and headed towards the southeastern states. On our way, we visited friends, family, and national parks. When in Colorado, we stopped at the Eden Valley Institute of Health and added a few games to their country store. We traveled from there to Oklahoma where we stayed with some friends who have a ministry creating large sculptures of the beasts from Daniel.
After catching our breath from all the driving, we continued the journey to Mississippi, Alabama, and eventually Tennessee. We visited friends who helped us get the game to Harvestime Books. Certain Books Mart and the Southern Adventist University Bookstore picked up a few games to sell, so the word is getting out! We couldn't help stopping by Little Light Studios where we met with and demonstrated the game with the crew and checked out their newest project Little Light Kids.
Most Sabbaths we visited churches/ministries that we follow on YouTube. One Sabbath we joined a Fall Family Camp in North Carolina. The Adventists brothers and sisters there, including a few Hartland students, were so warm and welcoming. We spent the afternoon playing the game which brought about great discussions about spiritual things.
GYC
The year ended for us at the Generation of Youth for Christ convention in Portland Oregon as exhibitors. With over 3000 people attending during the week and 4000 on Sabbath, there was never a dull moment at our booth. We demonstrated and played the game with youth and parents from around the world. The youngest ones stuck around to teach others the rules of the game. Although we were out of stock from our travels, we offered pre-orders.
Pre-Sale
We’ve decided to extend The Great Controversy Game pre-orders for $39.95 one week only, ending Sunday the 14th. To order one, click the button below… and share this blog far and wide so your friends have a chance to pre-order!
Already have one? Use it to evangelize! Do you have testimonies from your game play or pictures you would like to share? Have you read and used the online lessons?
The Future
We can't wait to see what this new year will bring. We will be debuting downloadable study guides some time this year and continuing the efforts towards translations for The Great Controversy Game. The website study guides are being continually improved as well.
We praise God for all the opportunities we’ve had this year that only came together by His provisions through the generosity of those around us. Although things aren’t always easy, we trust His plan for us.
